When I was living in Germany I had a whole room’s floor to have at hand paints and brushes. Probably it was the only time when I had enough physical and emotional space to experiment and let go off long gone emotions and play with colours, to reinvent the time when time wasn’t important. 2002-2004.</p>

<p>I don’t know why some apparently boring, uneventful days somehow get stored and stuck in my head as memories. 
Maybe they get relevant later on, or maybe it is just an exercise for the brain to flex its memory muscle.
This is one of those days, precisely focused on some point in a past afternoon. Disparate bits of film and a strong contrast on nothingness, the wide length of canvas and that bit of absurd happiness I get when I paint.</p> <p> Canvas on wood frame</br> H 36cm x W 92cm</p>
  • <p>Changing views yes. Up/down, sea/land/sky are just human some conventional markers for our own cuddly safety. There is a naïve conventionalism in medieval murals but there is no joy. Blue Bird is about joy.</p>

  • <p>There is an open fascination and reverie about any courtship happening: complicated process, detailed and sensual moves, grace and colours show offs for otherwise some basic act of coupling.</p>
